The Conservation Agriculture Regional Programme (CARP), implemented between 2013 and 2015, was a transformative initiative that introduced Conservation Agriculture practices to smallholder farmers across Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. The programme aimed to improve productivity, enhance resilience to climate change, and promote sustainable farming systems.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The CARP programme was designed to promote sustainable agricultural practices through Conservation Agriculture techniques such as minimum tillage, crop residue retention, and crop rotation. In Tanzania, CFU Tanzania worked closely with local partners including HRNS and TGT to deliver training and support to farmers through demonstration plots and a Farmer-to-Farmer extension approach.
