The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Livelihood Restoration Programme (LRP), implemented by CFU Tanzania since November 2023, focuses on restoring and improving the livelihoods of Project Affected Households (PAHs) along the pipeline corridor. The programme aims to ensure sustainable agricultural productivity, food security, and long-term economic resilience.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The EACOP LRP programme is designed to support Project Affected Households in restoring and enhancing their agricultural livelihoods. Through targeted training and practical support, farmers are equipped with skills in Conservation Agriculture, Good Agronomic Practices, soil fertility management, and climate-smart farming techniques. The programme ensures that affected households not only recover but achieve improved productivity and resilience.

  • Promotion of good agronomic practices and soil fertility management
  • Farmer field demonstrations and practical training sessions
  • Land preparation support and input distribution
  • Training on post-harvest handling and farm planning

  • 99% of beneficiaries successfully contacted and trained
  • 99.9% achievement of livelihood restoration targets (LRA 1–3)

CFU Tanzania supports over 200,000 smallholder farmers with sustainable farming practices that improve yields, restore soil health, and build resilience to climate change.
